Precision Timing, Resiliency, Vulnerability Assessments, Impact Assessments, Mitigation Strategies, Complementary Timing Technologies, Cybersecurity, Government and Regulatory Agencies
Description
Accurate positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT) are essential for the functioning of many critical infrastructure sectors. Precision timing, primarily provided through the Global Positioning System (GPS), is particularly important. However, GPS signals are low-power and unencrypted, making them susceptible to both intentional and unintentional disruptions. To address these vulnerabilities, the Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) Program employs a multi-pronged approach. This includes conducting vulnerability and impact assessments, developing mitigations, exploring complementary timing technologies, and engaging with industry through outreach events and meetings. The goal is to increase the resiliency of critical infrastructure to GPS vulnerabilities in the future.
Who Should Attend
This panel is ideal for critical infrastructure operators and managers, cybersecurity professionals, government and regulatory agency representatives, technology developers and providers, researchers and academics in the field of PNT, and industry stakeholders and consultants.
Outcomes
Attendees will gain an enhanced understanding of GPS vulnerabilities and their impact on critical infrastructure, insights into current and emerging mitigation strategies, knowledge of complementary timing technologies, and networking opportunities with industry experts and stakeholders. This panel will provide valuable insights and practical solutions for enhancing the resiliency of critical infrastructure against GPS vulnerabilities. Join us to learn, share, and collaborate on this important topic.
